On 12 December 2023 H.E. Suwat Kaewsook, Ambassador of Thailand, attended the Green Hydrogen Duqm LLC Shareholders’ Agreement signing ceremony at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat.

Green Hydrogen Duqm LLC consists of the global-leading companies from the Republic of Korea, which are POSCO, Samsung Engineering, Korea East-West Power, and Korea Southern Power, France’s ENGIE Group, and Thailand’s PTTEP.

In June 2023 the consortium has been awarded the concession area in Duqm covering 340 square kilometers and the rights to develop and produce green hydrogen and convert to ammonia. The construction is expected to take place in 2027, with commercial operation date scheduled to begin in 2030. The project is targeted to have production capacity of 220,000 tons/year of green hydrogen and 1.2 million tons/year of ammonia.
