เมื่อวันที่ 10 สิงหาคม 2569 นางสาววารุณี ปั้นกระจ่าง เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ประธานคณะกรรมการอาเซียนในกรุงมัสกัต ได้นำคณะกรรมการฯ ประกอบด้วยเอกอัครราชทูตและหัวหน้าคณะผู้แทนประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนในกรุงมัสกัต เข้าพบหารือกับผู้บริหารกระทรวงคมนาคม การสื่อสาร และเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศโอมาน นำโดย H.E. Engineer Muhanna Baqir อธิบดีกรมท่าเรือรักษาการปลัดกระทรวงฝ่ายคมนาคม H.E.  Engineer Abdullah Al Busaidi อธิบดีศูนย์โลจิสติกส์โอมาน (Oman Logistics Center) Engineer Rahma Al Riyami หัวหน้าสำนักงานเทคนิคของปลัดกระทรวงฝ่ายคมนาคม รวมถึงผู้แทนกรมกิจการทางทะเล และคณะ เพื่อรับฟังข้อมูลล่าสุดเกี่ยวกับแผนโลจิสติกส์ของโอมานตาม Oman Vision 2040 และการเชื่อมโยงกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในภูมิภาค ที่จะช่วยลดผลกระทบและแก้ไขปัญหาการหยุดชะงักของห่วงโซ่อุปทานอันเนื่องมาจากบริบททางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ปัจจุบันซึ่งส่งผลกระทบต่อช่องแคบฮอร์มุซ โอมานซึ่งมีที่ตั้งยุทธศาสตร์สามารถมีบทบาทเป็นเส้นทางการค้าและโลจิสติกส์ทางเลือกสำหรับอาเซียน ทุกฝ่ายเห็นพ้องในศักยภาพความร่วมมือที่สามารถเพิ่มขึ้นระหว่างประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนกับโอมานและ GCC และแสดงความพร้อมที่จะทำงานร่วมกันเพื่อส่งเสริมการเชื่อมโยงระหว่างโอมานกับอาเซียนในอนาคต

On 10 August 2026, H.E. Warunee Pan-krajang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, current Chair of ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM), led members of ACM comprising Their Excellencies Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of ASEAN Member States in Muscat paying a visit to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman. They were warmly welcome by Their Excellencies the Executives of the Ministry led by H.E. Engineer Muhanna Baqir, Director General of Ports and Acting Undersecretary for Transport, H.E. Engineer Abdullah Al Busaidi, Director General of Oman Logistics Center, Engineer Rahma Al Riyami, Head of the Technical Office of the Undersecretary for Transport, representatives of Maritime Affairs Department and their team.

The fruitful discussion met its objective of receiving the updates on Oman’s logistics plans under Oman Vision 2040, its connectivity with neighboring countries, as well as measures to help mitigate and address disruptions to supply chains arising from current situation affecting the Strait of Hormuz. Given Oman’s strategic location, Oman can serve as an important alternative trade and logistics route for ASEAN. All sides emphasized the potential of further cooperation between ASEAN Member States and the Sultanate of Oman and GCC and expressed their readiness to work together to further connectivity between Oman and ASEAN in the future.
