เมื่อวันที่ 8 มิถุนายน 2569 นางสาววารุณี ปั้นกระจ่าง เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัตได้พบหารือกับนาย Ashraf Hamed Al Mamari ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารกลุ่มบริษัท OQ ซึ่งครอบคลุมธุรกิจด้านพลังงานทั้งหมดของโอมาน อาทิ การสำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียมและก๊าซ การค้าพลังงานและสินค้าโภคภัณฑ์ และผู้บริหารบริษัท OQ Trading ติดตามผลการเยือนโอมานอย่างเป็นทางการของนายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เมื่อ 15 - 16 เมษายน 2569 ในการจัดหาแหล่งพลังงานและแร่ธาตุเพิ่มเติมจากโอมาน อาทิ น้ำมันดิบ ปุ๋ย และแนฟทา ในช่วงที่มีการปิดช่องแคบฮอร์มุซ เพื่อฝ่ายไทยประกอบการพิจารณา ในโอกาสนี้ OQ Trading ได้ให้ข้อมูลและข้อเสนอเพื่อฝ่ายไทยพิจารณาต่อไป

เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ยังได้แสดงความยินดีต่อการลงนาม MoU ระหว่าง OQ EP กับ ปตท.สผ. ในงาน Oman Petroleum and Energy Show (OPES) เมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคมที่ผ่านมา เพิ่มความร่วมมือด้านการลงทุนในการสำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียมระหว่างกัน

เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้ย้ำถึงพลวัตของความสัมพันธ์ไทย-โอมานที่มีพัฒนาการอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการเยือนประเทศไทยของรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงานและแร่ธาตุโอมานในเดือนกันยายน 2569 เพื่อเข้าร่วมงาน Gastech ที่ประเทศไทย และการเยือนประเทศไทยของรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศโอมานอย่างเป็นทางการ พร้อมคณะนักธุรกิจในเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2569 ซึ่งจะต่อยอดความร่วมมือทวิภาคีทุกมิติ

ทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องรักษาพลวัตความสัมพันธ์และความร่วมมือ ไทย-โอมาน รวมถึงด้านพลังงาน

On 8 June 2026, H.E. Miss Warunee Pankrajang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, met with H.E. Mr. Ashraf Hamed Al Mamari, Group Chief Executive Officer of OQ - Oman’s global integrated energy investment group whose operations encompass oil and gas exploration and production as well as energy and commodity trading, together with the executive of OQ Trading, to follow up on the potential procurement of additional energy and mineral resources from Oman, including crude oil, fertilizers, and naphtha, for Thailand’s consideration in light of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which was earlier discussed between H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Salim Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman during the former's official visit to Oman earlier this year on 15–16 April 2026. On this occasion, OQ Trading provided relevant information and proposals for further consideration by the Thai side.

The Thai Ambassador also welcomed the signing of a MoU between OQ Exploration & Production (OQ EP) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) at the Oman Petroleum and Energy Show (OPES) in May 2026, which facilitates additional investment in petroleum exploration and production between both sides.

The Thai Ambassador underscored the dynamic of Thailand–Oman relations, to be increased by the forthcoming visits to Thailand in September this year by H.E. Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman to attend Gastech in Thailand, and in November this year by H.E. Foreign Minister of Oman's official visit when he will also lead Omani business delegation to discuss further cooperation both by public and private secters. These visits will advance bilateral cooperation across all areas between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to maintain the strong momentum of Thailand–Oman relations, including in the field of energy.
