เมื่อวันที่ 1 พ.ค. 2567 นายเอกอรรถ ทิตาราม อุปทูตฯ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ได้ร่วมคณะ ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะ H.E. Abdul Salam Al-Murshidi ประธาน Oman Investment Authority (OIA) ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานที่ดูแลและส่งเสริมการลงทุนของโอมาน โดยอุปทูตฯ ได้กล่าวถึงการลงทุนของไทยในโอมาน อาทิ 1) บริษัท ปตท.สผ. ในอุตสาหกรรมน้ำมันและกรีนไฮโดรเจน 2) บริษัท กัลฟ์ เอ็นเนอร์จี ดีเวลลอปเมนท์ จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ GULF ร่วมลงทุนกับบริษัท Marafiq ในโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าก๊าซธรรมชาติ เพื่อผลิตและจำหน่ายกระแสไฟฟ้าและน้ำจืดให้กับโรงกลั่นน้ำมันขนาดใหญ่ของโอมานในเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษเมือง Duqm พร้อมทั้งแสดงความหวังว่าจะมีการลงทุนระหว่างไทยกับโอมานมากยิ่งขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้  ในขณะที่ประธาน OIA ได้กล่าวแสดงความยินดีที่จะขยายความร่วมมือและการลงทุนระหว่างโอมานกับไทยและอาเซียน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งได้กล่าวถึงโอกาสการลงทุนในโอมานในสาขาพลังงาน โครงสร้างพื้นฐาน บริการทางการแพทย์ อาหารฮาลาล และการเพาะเลี้ยงสัตว์น้ำ (ซึ่งมีหลายสาขาที่ไทยมีศักยภาพที่จะร่วมลงทุนกับโอมาน)

On 1^st May 2024, Mr. Ek-att Thitaram, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy, Muscat together with the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Abdul Salam Al-Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority (OIA). Mr. Thitaram mentioned investment by Thai companies in Oman, such as 1) PTTEP, with investment in the oil and gas industry including green hydrogen project and 2) Gulf Energy Development, PCL (GULF) with its joint venture with Marafiq Company for the project of power plant from natural gas and desalination to supply electricity and fresh water to large oil refinery in special economic zone of Duqm city. The OIA President also expressed readiness to work together to increase investment between Oman and ASEAN member countries, including Thailand, as well as highlighted the investment opportunities in the fields of energy, infrastructure, healthcare, food, and aquaculture. (Thailand has capability to do joint businesses with Oman in many afore-mentioned sectors).
