เมื่อวันที่ 21 ตุลาคม 2569 นายวัฒนชัย นิรันดร อุปทูตฯ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการอาเซียนในกรุงมัสกัต (ASEAN Committee in Muscat - ACM) ได้นำคณะ ACM ประกอบด้วยเอกอัครราชทูต อุปทูต และผู้แทนประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนประจำกรุงมัสกัต เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนาย Sayyid Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi ปลัดด้านวัฒนธรรม กระทรวงวัฒนธรรม กีฬา และเยาวชน สองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านวัฒนธรรม เยาวชน และกีฬาระหว่างอาเซียนและโอมาน ซึ่งเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระดับประชาชนระหว่างกัน ตลอดจนความร่วมมือระหว่างอาเซียนและโครงการศูนย์วัฒนธรรม Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex ภายใต้กระทรวงวัฒนธรรม กีฬา และเยาวชน ซึ่งมีกำหนดเปิดทำการในปลายปี 2570 และการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกันในโอกาสครบรอบ 60 ปีการก่อตั้ง ASEAN ในปี 2570

ในโอกาสดังกล่าว อุปทูตฯ ได้กล่าวขอบคุณปลัดด้านวัฒนธรรม กระทรวงวัฒนธรรม กีฬา และเยาวชน ที่ได้ให้โอกาสคณะ ACM  ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะซึ่ง ACM ได้ส่งคำขอเข้าพบเมื่อช่วงครึ่งปีแรกของปี 2026 ในช่วงที่สิงคโปร์เป็นปะธาน ACM และขอบคุณสำหรับความร่วมมือต่าง ๆ ที่ผ่านมา รวมถึงการสนับสนุนการจัดงานเทศกาลไทยซึ่งประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างดี สะท้อนถึงความสัมพันธ์ที่แน่นแฟ้นระหว่างประชาชนของโอมานกับอาเซียนและไทย

On 21 October 2026, Mr. Wattanachai Nirandorn, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat, in his capacity of Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM), led a delegation of ACM members, comprising Ambassadors, and representatives of ASEAN Member States in Muscat, to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Sayyid Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Sultanate of Oman.

Both sides exchanged views on promoting cooperation between ASEAN and Oman in the fields of culture, youth, and sports, which play an important role in strengthening people-to-people ties. Discussions also covered cooperation between ASEAN and the Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex, a project under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth scheduled to open at the end of 2027, as well as the potential cooperation on joint activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of ASEAN in 2027.

On this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. expressed his appreciation to the Undersecretary of Culture for his warmly receiving the ACM delegation. The courtesy call had originally been initiated during Singapore’s ACM chairmanship in the first half of 2026. the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. also expressed his gratitude for the Ministry’s continued cooperation, including its valuable support for the successful organisation of the Thai Festival, which reflected the close people-to-people ties between Oman, ASEAN, and Thailand.
