Meranti Green Steel (MGS) มีสำนักงานใหญ่ตั้งอยู่ที่ประเทศสิงคโปร์ และอยู่ระหว่างก่อสร้างฐานการดำเนินงานในโอมานและประเทศไทย มุ่งเน้นการผลิตเหล็กคุณภาพสูงด้วยกระบวนการปล่อยคาร์บอนต่ำ (low-emission Direct Reduced Iron-DRI) และเหล็กอัดร้อน (Hot Briquetted Iron-HBI) โดยสอดคล้องกับการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่เศรษฐกิจและอุตสาหกรรมสีเขียว และข้อกำหนดด้านคาร์บอน MSGO จะดำเนินการสร้างโรงงานผลิต green HBI ในเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษดูคุม โดยใช้ก๊าซธรรมชาติและกรีนไฮโดรเจน และส่ง green HBI ให้แก่ MGST นำไปผลิตเหล็กกล้าที่ในประเทศไทย เพื่อจำหน่ายภายในประเทศ และใช้ประเทศไทยเป็นฐานในการส่งออกต่อไปยังตลาดในภูมิภาค

ความร่วมมือดังกล่าวสอดคล้องกลับวิสัยทัศน์โอมาน 2040 การส่งเสริมการลงทุนสู่การเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่พลังงานสะอาด การสร้างระแบบนิเวศของกรีนไฮโดรเจน และจะช่วยพัฒนาห่วงโซ่อุปทานสีเขียวของประเทศไทยและระหว่างประเทศ ทั้งนี้ เหล็กที่ผลิตโดยกระบวนการปล่อยคาร์บอนต่ำจาก MGST จะสามารถเป็นวัตถุดิบสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมอื่นที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมได้ต่อไป ส่งผลให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมของไทยและภูมิภาค สามารถเข้าสู่ตลาดที่มีมาตรฐานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมสูง เช่น ตลาดสหภาพยุโรปที่ใช้มาตรการปรับค่าคาร์บอนก่อนเข้าพรมแดน (CBAM) และตลาดประเทศพัฒนาแล้วอื่น ๆ

On 24 February 2026, Mr. Wattanachai Nirundorn, Chargé d’Affaires, attended the opening ceremony of the Meranti Green Steel Oman (MGSO) office at the A’Raya Complex in Muscat. He extended his sincere congratulations to Mr. Sebastian Langendorf, CEO, together with Mrs. Nongnuch Petcharat, former Ambassador and current advisor to Meranti Green Steel Thailand (MGST), as well as the company’s executives and staffs.

Meranti Green Steel (MGS) is headquartered in Singapore and is in the process of establishing operational bases in Oman and Thailand. The company focuses on producing high-quality steel through low-emission processes, including Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI), in line with the transition toward a green economy and industry, as well as international carbon regulations and standards.

MGSO plans to construct a green HBI production plant in the Duqm Special Economic Zone, utilizing natural gas alongside green hydrogen. The green HBI will be supplied to MGST for further steel production in Thailand, serving the domestic market and positioning Thailand as an export base for regional markets.

This cooperation aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which promotes investment in clean energy transition and the development of a green hydrogen ecosystem. It will also strengthen green supply chains in Thailand and internationally. Steel produced through low-emission processes by MGST will serve as raw material for other environmentally friendly industries. As a result, environmentally friendly steel products from Thailand and the region will be well positioned to enter markets with high environmental standards, such as the European Union, which applies the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), as well as other markets.
