เมื่อวันที่ 18 พฤษภาคม 2569 นางสาววารุณี ปั้นกระจ่าง เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ได้เข้าร่วมงาน Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) และ Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES) ครั้งที่ 5 ที่กระทรวงพลังงานโอมานจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 18 - 20 พฤษภาคม 2569 ณ Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre กรุงมัสกัต โดยฝ่ายไทยมีบริษัท ปตท. สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) (ปตท.สผ.) นำโดยนายมนตรี ลาวัลย์ชัยกุล ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร และคณะผู้แทนทั้งจากสำนักงานใหญ่ สำนักงานภูมิภาค ณ กรุงอาบูดาบี และสำนักงานในกรุงมัสกัต เข้าร่วม

ในโอกาสดังกล่าวเอกอัครราชทูตได้พบรัฐมนตรีว่าการและปลัดกระทรวงพลังงานและแร่ธาตุของโอมาน ผู้แทน Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) Oman LNG และอื่น ๆ ติดตามความร่วมมือด้านพลังงานและแร่ธาตุไทย-โอมาน และฝ่ายโอมานจะเดินทางเยือนประเทศไทยเพื่อเข้าร่วมงาน Gastech 2026 ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 15 - 18 กันยายน 2569 ด้วย

ในพิธีเปิดรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงานและแร่ธาตุของโอมานได้ย้ำความสำคัญของการสร้างความสมดุลระหว่างการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจและการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม พัฒนาการของโครงการระดับชาติที่สนับสนุนการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่เศรษฐกิจคาร์บอนต่ำของโอมาน ซึ่งรวมถึงยุทธศาสตร์ Net Zero กฎระเบียบสำหรับตลาดคาร์บอน และแผนการเปลี่ยนผ่านด้านพลังงาน ตลอดจนการส่งเสริมการใช้ยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า โครงการพลังงานหมุนเวียน การจัดการขยะและรีไซเคิล รวมถึงเป้าหมายการยุติการปล่อยก๊าซส่วนเกินจากกระบวนการผลิตปิโตรเลียมเป็นศูนย์ (zero routine flaring) ภายในปี ค.ศ. 2030 พร้อมทั้งย้ำว่า โอมานพร้อมที่จะเป็นหุ้นส่วนความร่วมมือ แลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ สร้างนวัตกรรม ส่งเสริมความพยายามในระดับนานาชาติ ในการสร้างความมั่นคงและความยั่งยืนด้านพลังงานของโลก

ในช่วงการเสวนา Industry Dialogue: Balancing Collaborative Act - Efficient Production Growth, Less Emission with Zero Harm นายมนตรี ลาวัลย์ชัยกุล ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ปตท.สผ. ได้กล่าวถึงความร่วมมือด้านพลังงานที่ใกล้ชิดระหว่างไทย-โอมาน โดย ปตท.สผ. ได้เข้ามาลงทุนในโอมานกว่า 20 ปี รวมถึงบทบาทของ ปตท.สผ. ในการจัดหาความมั่นคงด้านพลังงานให้ประเทศไทยจากการผลิตก๊าซภายในประเทศ และการจัดหาแหล่งน้ำมันจากประเทศต่าง ๆ ให้กับประเทศไทยในช่วงที่มีการปิดช่องแคบฮอร์มุซ นอกจากนี้ได้มีการลงนาม MoU ระหว่าง ปตท.สผ. กับ OQ Exploration & Production SAOG (OQEP) และการนำเสนอผลงานวิชาการจาก ปตท.สผ. ในงาน Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES) ในช่วง Technical session ด้วย

On 18 May 2026, H.E. Ms. Warunee Pan-Krajang, Ambassador of Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, attended the 5^th Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) and Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES), organized by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of Oman from 18–20 May 2026 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat. Thailand's PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) delegation led by Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, Chief Executive Officer, comprising delegates from its headquarters, regional office in Abu Dhabi, and office in Muscat also participated actively during this three-day event.

The Thai Ambassador met with the Minister and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of Oman, Omani representatives from energy sector such as Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Oman LNG, to follow up on Thailand–Oman cooperation in the fields of energy and minerals. The Omani side also expressed the interest to visit Thailand to participate in Gastech 2026, which will be held from 15–18 September 2026.

At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman emphasized the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental conservation, as well as the progress of national projects supporting Oman’s transition toward a low-carbon economy. These include the Net Zero strategy, carbon market regulations, and energy transition plans, along with the promotion of electric vehicles, renewable energy projects, waste management and recycling initiatives, and the target of achieving zero routine flaring by 2030. The Minister also reaffirmed Oman’s readiness to strengthen partnerships on knowledge exchange, innovation, and international efforts aimed at enhancing global energy security and sustainability.

At the Industry Dialogue session: Balancing Collaborative Act - Efficient Production Growth, Less Emission with Zero Harm, Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, Chief Executive Officer of PTTEP, highlighted the close cooperation between Thailand and Oman on energy sector with over 20 years of PTTEP’s presence in Oman, PTTEP’s role in ensuring Thailand’s energy security through domestic gas production and securing supply of crude oil from various countries during the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

During the event, PTTEP also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OQ Exploration & Production SAOG (OQEP) and delivered technical presentations at the Technical Session of the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES).
