เมื่อวันที่ 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นางสาววารุณี ปั้นกระจ่าง เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ได้นำข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเพื่อสาธารณประโยชน์ขององค์กรท้องถิ่น สมาคมต้านมะเร็งแห่งโอมาน Oman Cancer Association (OCA) ซึ่งได้จัดกิจกรรม Hug a Bear เนื่องในโอกาสวันมะเร็งโลก World Cancer Day และครบรอบ 15 ปี การก่อตั้งบ้านพักผู้ป่วยเด็กโรคมะเร็ง Dar Al Hanan (Home away from Home) ซึ่งเป็นบ้านพักชั่วคราวสำหรับผู้ป่วยมะเร็งเด็กในต่างจังหวัดโดยไม่จำกัดสัญชาติ พร้อมบิดามารดา/ครอบครัว เพื่อให้การเดินทางมารับการบำบัดรักษาโรคมะเร็งในโรงพยาบาลกรุงมัสกัตอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นระยะตามที่จำเป็นเป็นไปได้สำหรับผู้ป่วยเด็ก กิจกรรมมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อสร้างความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับโรคมะเร็ง การรักษา การป้องกัน และผลกระทบด้านสังคมและเศรษฐกิจ เพื่อยกย่องความกล้าหาญและความเข้มแข็งของผู้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากโรคมะเร็ง และเพื่อแสดงความขอบคุณแก่ผู้ที่ให้ความสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานของสมาคมฯ ภายในงานยังมีการจัดกิจกรรมสันทนาการสำหรับผู้ป่วยเด็กและครอบครัวอีกด้วย
ทั้งนี้ ที่ผ่านมาสถานเอกอัครราชทูตได้ ร่วมกับ OCA ดำเนินกิจกรรมจิตอาสากับสมาคมฯ โดยให้บริการตรวจคัดกรองมะเร็งเต้านมด้วยเครื่องแมมโมแกรมแก่ชุมชนไทยและผู้หญิงในโอมาน (ผู้ที่อายุ 40 ปีขึ้นไป) โดยไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่าย ณ อาคารที่ทำการสถานเอกอัครราชทูต เนื่องในโอกาสพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงเจริญพระชนมายุ 26,469 วัน เป็นสมมงคลพระชนมายุเท่าพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช สมเด็จพระปฐมบรมกษัตริยาธิราชแห่งพระราชวงศ์จักรี และนำอาหารและสิ่งของจำเป็นสำหรับผู้ป่วยเด็กมอบเพื่อมีส่วนร่วมกับกิจกรรมสาธารณประโยชน์ขององค์กรท้องถิ่นของโอมาน แก่บ้านพักผู้ป่วยเด็กโรคมะเร็ง Dar Al Hanan เนื่องในโอกาสวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว 28 กรกฎาคม 2568
On 4 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Warunee Pan-krajang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, led Embassy officials in participating in the “Hug a Bear” event organized by the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) on the occasion of the World Cancer Day and the 15th anniversary of Dar Al Hanan (Home Away from Home), which serves as a temporary residence for pediatric cancer patients from outside Muscat, regardless of nationality, together with their parents/families, enabling children to travel to Muscat for ongoing cancer treatment as required.
The event aimed to raise awareness about cancer, treatment and prevention, as well as social and economic impacts, to honor the courage and resilience of individuals affected by cancer, and express appreciation to supporters of the OCA. It was also opportunity for children and their families to enjoy fun activities.
Previously, the Embassy, in cooperation with OCA, organized volunteer activities by providing free mammogram breast cancer screening services to the Thai community and women in Oman aged 40 and above at the Embassy premises. This activity was organized on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua Attaining the Same Age as His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great (Rama I), the first monarch of the Chakri Dynasty. The Embassy also donated food and essential supplies to Dar Al Hanan on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2025.
