เมื่อวันที่ 29 มกราคม 2568 นางสาววารุณี ปั้นกระจ่าง เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะ H.E. Mr. Jota Yamamoto เอกอัครราชทูตญี่ปุ่นประจำโอมาน ในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่ ทั้งสองได้หารือแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลการลงทุนของไทยและของญี่ปุ่นในโอมาน สถานการณ์ระหว่างประเทศและในภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลางและทะเลแดง ผลกระทบต่อการเดินเรือ การคุ้มครองดูแลคนชาติในสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉินซึ่งรวมถึงคนไทยในเยเมน บทบาทโอมานในการเป็นตัวกลางในการเจรจาการปล่อยตัวประกัน ศักยภาพของโอมานในการพัฒนาเป็นศูนย์กลางการขนส่งของภูมิภาค และการเก็บสถิติข้อมูลและดิจิทัล ทั้งสองฝ่ายมุ่งมั่นจะเป็นอีกช่องทางในการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ไทย-ญี่ปุ่นต่อไป

On 29 January 2025, H.E. Ms. Warunee Pan-krajang, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Jota Yamamoto, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, on the occasion of her assumption of duty. Both discussed Thai and Japanese investments in Oman. The two ambassadors exchanged views on the current situation in the world, the region, the Red Sea and its impact on shipping, the protection of their nationals which includes Thais in Yemen, Oman’s role as a mediator in negotiations for the release of hostages, Oman’s potential to be one of the transportation hubs in the region and Oman’s positive development in digitalization of government services and database. Both sides are committed to being another channel to promote Thai-Japanese relations.
