นอกจากนี้สองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลและความเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวโน้มการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมพลังงานสีเขียวของโลก ซึ่งนายนภสิทธิ์ ชัยวรรณคุปต์ รองกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ กลุ่มงานเทคโนโลยี คาร์บอนโซลูชั่นและการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน ได้ร่วมบรรยายใน Oman Petroleum & Energy Show and Sustainability Week 2025 ที่รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงานและแร่ธาตุโอมานเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดขึ้นด้วย โดยบรรยายในหัวข้อ Energy Transition: Balancing Economic Growth and Environmental Sustainability ใน Executive Plenary Session เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์กับบริษัทพลังงานชั้นนำ อาทิ PDO, BP Oman, MedcoEnergi และ Halliburton ซึ่งสำหรับประเทศไทย กลุ่ม ปตท. มีแผนงานลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกจากกระบวนการผลิตปิโตรเลียม โดยอยู่ระหว่างพัฒนาโครงการดักจับและกักเก็บก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ (Carbon Capture and Storage: CCS) ที่แหล่งก๊าซธรรมชาติอาทิตย์ในอ่าวไทย และศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ในการประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยี CCS ภายใต้โครงการ Eastern Thailand CCS Hub ในจังหวัดระยองและจังหวัดชลบุรี เพื่อลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกของอุตสาหกรรมในกลุ่ม ปตท. และอุตสาหกรรมอื่น ๆ ในพื้นที่ใกล้เคียง ซึ่งต้องอาศัยการบูรณาการกับหน่วยงานภาครัฐไทยที่เกี่ยวข้อง

 

On 13 May 2025 H.E. Miss Warunee PAN-KRAJANG, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, welcomed the delegation of PTTEP (Petroleum Authority of Thailand Exploration and Production) from Bangkok led by Mr. Piya Sukhumpanumet, Executive Vice President, Geosciences Subsurface and Exploration Group, and from its Regional Office for MENA in Abu Dhabi led by Mr. Vitoon Chaisomboonpan, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager at the Royal Thai Embassy. The two sides discussed PTTEP’s business operations in many exploration and production projects in Oman in oil, natural gas, LNG, and green hydrogen. PTTEP sees Oman as a strategic country with long-term partnership and potential to expand its investment in the future. PTTEP’s human resource department also joined the delegation in this trip to discuss with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) on cooperation in human resources development through exchange of personnels, the initiative which the Ambassador found reflecting comprehensive partnership in development between PTTEP and Oman.

 

Both sides also exchanged information and views on global trends in green energy industry development. Earlier that morning, Mr. Nopasit Chaiwanakupt, PTTEP Executive Vice President, Technology, Carbon Solutions, and Sustainable Growth Group, spoke at the Executive Plenary Session on Energy Transition: Balancing Economic Growth and Environmental Sustainability at Oman Petroleum & Energy Show and Sustainability Week 2025, hosted by the Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman, sharing PTT views and experience with leading energy companies such as PDO, BP Oman, MedcoEnergi and Halliburton. PTT Group has plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the petroleum production. It is currently developing a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project at the Arthit natural gas field in the Gulf of Thailand and studying the feasibility of applying CCS technology for the Eastern Thailand CCS Hub project in Rayong and Chonburi provinces to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from industries in the PTT Group and other industries in nearby areas, which requires cooperation and integration among relevant Thai government agencies.
