รองปลัดพาณิชย์ฯ แจ้งว่าผู้ลงทุนในโอมานจะได้รับสถานะผู้มีถิ่นที่อยู่และรับจะติดตามการดำเนินการให้ต่อไป เอกอัครราชทูตกล่าวขอบคุณและแจ้งว่าได้เยี่ยมคารวะรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงเกษตร ประมง และทรัพยากรน้ำ ได้รับแจ้งว่าโอมานประสงค์นำเข้าข้าวไทยเพิ่มขึ้นและการลงทุนของไทยในโอมานในอุตสาหกรรมแปรรูปและบรรจุสินค้าประมงที่ไทยมีความเชี่ยวขาญและโอมานมีทรัพยากรจำนวนมาก จึงเห็นพ้องจะดำเนินการเพื่อประโยชน์ร่วมกันโดยนำภาครัฐภาคเอกชนโอมานซึ่งรวมถึงผู้แทนกระทรวงเกษตรโอมานเยือนไทยระหว่างวันที่ 26-30 พฤษภาคม 2568 เพื่อฝ่ายโอมานเยี่ยมชมศักยภาพและนวัตกรรมของไทยและพบปะเจรจาการค้าการลงทุนกับผู้ประกอบการข้าว สินค้าเกษตร ประมง และอาหารของไทยในงาน THAIFEX-ANUGA ASIA 2025 งานแสดงสินค้าเกษตรและอาหารอันดับต้นของเอเชีย โดยจะจัดให้ได้พบหารือกับผู้ประกอบการข้าว สินค้าประมงแปรรูป และสินค้าเกษตรอาหารอื่น หน่วยงานที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในเรื่องนี้รวมถึงศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์ฮาลาล คณะกรรมการกลางอิสลามแห่งประเทศไทย คณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุนของไทย ฯลฯ เพื่อเป็นโอกาสเพิ่มพูนค้าการลงทุนระหว่างไทยและโอมานไม่เพียงสาขาข้างต้นแต่รวมถึงสาขาอื่นๆ ทั้งการลงทุนของไทยในโอมาน และการลงทุนของโอมานในไทยที่เอกอัครราชทูตประสงค์ให้ฝ่ายโอมานพิจารณาด้วย

รองปลัดพาณิชย์ฯ แจ้งว่าโอมานมุ่งพัฒนาการผลิต โลจิสติกส์ การท่องเที่ยว เหมืองแร่ และความมั่นคงทางอาหาร ประสงค์ร่วมมือกับไทยในด้านที่ไทยเชี่ยวชาญ อาทิ อาหาร การท่องเที่ยว และด้าน wellness center โอมานมีที่ตั้งที่เหมาะสมเป็นศูนย์กลางกระจายสินค้า มีความตกลงการค้าเสรีกับหลายประเทศรวมถึงสหรัฐฯ และอินเดีย และมีทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและวัตถุดิบมากซึ่งต้องการการลงทุน เช่น การแปรรูปและส่งออกผักผลไม้แช่แข็ง และอาหารทะเลที่เอกชนไทยอาจร่วมมือกับรัฐวิสาหกิจของโอมาน เช่น Fisheries Development Oman (FDO) โอมานมีพื้นที่ส่งเสริมการลงทุนด้านเกษตรที่เมือง Najd ในเขต Dhofar ไม่ไกลจากเขตอุตสาหกรรม Salalah Freezone และสามารถส่งออกไปยังเยเมน และ Khazaen Economic City เป็นศูนย์รวมการค้าส่งผักและผลไม้ห่างจากมัสกัตเพียง 1 ชั่วโมง และยินดีประชุมออนไลน์กับบริษัทไทยที่สนใจ

เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวเชิญกระทรวงพาณิขย์โอมาน/Invest Oman ส่งผู้แทนร่วมเดินทางไปไทยพร้อมกับผู้แทนกระทรวงเกษตรโอมานด้วยเพื่อเยี่ยมชมศักยภาพของไทยและพบหารือกับผู้ประกอบการด้านผักผลไม้แช่แข็งที่ประสงค์โดยตรง เพื่อนำไปสู่การติดต่อหารือต่อไป และจะเป็นโอกาสหารือกับหน่วยงานไทยเพื่อเพิ่มพูนการลงทุนด้านอื่นๆ ได้ด้วย รองปลัดพาณิชย์ฯ เห็นพ้องมอบหมายผู้แทน Invest Oman ร่วมเดินทางไปไทย รวมทั้งจะประสานให้เอกอัครราชทูตฯ พบหารือ Oman Investment Authority อีกทางหนึ่งด้วย

เอกอัครราขทูตฯ กล่าวขอบคุณในความร่วมมือ และได้มอบรายการงานแสดงสินค้าไทยที่กรมส่งเสริมการค้าระหว่างประเทศจะจัดขึ้นในปีนี้เพื่อรองปลัดกระทรวงพาณิชย์ฯ ประกอบการพิจารณาความร่วมมือกับฝ่ายไทยต่อไป

ต่อมาวันที่ 22 พฤษภาคม 2568 เอกอัครราชทูตได้ประชุมเตรียมการกับผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครดูไบ ซึ่งได้ให้ความอนุเคราะห์ด้วยดี และวันที่ 25 พฤษภาคม 2568 กับผู้แทนกระทรวงเกษตรโอมาน ผู้แทนกระทรวงพาณิชย์/ Invest Oman และภาคเอกชนในโอมาน ที่จะเดินทางไปไทย ร่วมกันกำหนดทิศทางกำหนดการพบหารือกับฝ่ายต่างๆ ในไทย ได้แก่ สมาคมผู้ส่งออกข้าว สมาคมอาหารแช่เยือกแข็ง คณะกรรมการกลางอิสลามแห่งประเทศไทยผู้รับรองมาตรฐานฮาลาลของไทย ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์ฮาลาล กรมการค้าต่างประเทศ กรมส่งเสริมการค้าระหว่างประเทศ คณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุนของไทย เป็นต้น และภายหลังการเยือนเมื่อวันที่ 24 มิถุนายน 2568 ได้ประชุมติดตามผลและสานต่อความร่วมมือไทย-โอมานจากการเยือนดังกล่าว

On 18 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Warunee PAN-KRAJANG, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, met with H.E. Ibtisam Ahmed Said Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman, at the Invest Oman office. The Ambassador shared updates on Thailand’s investment in Oman. PTTEP has been investing in Oman for more than 20 years in exploration and production of oil, natural gas, LNG, and also green hydrogen; Meranti Green Steel (Thailand), is in the process of investing in the production of low-carbon iron ore in Oman which will be exported to Thailand for the production of green steel, low-carbon steel, in Thailand for automotive and other industries, both for Thai market and into regional and global green supply chain; Centara Hotel; Anantara Hotel; Thai restaurants; Piyavate Hospital and Sukhumvit Hospital, which have opened rehabilitation and physiotherapy centers in Muscat, facilitated by Invest Oman. However, Invest Oman’s continued support in the latter's import of medical equipment, work permits for staff, and status of residence in Oman for the executives’ which is necessary in dealing with local banks on financial transactions of the center, are requested from Invest Oman to enable the operation of their investment in Oman.

The Undersecretary assured that foreign investors should receive residence permit and Invest Oman will follow up on the process, to which the Ambassador expressed her gratitude.

Ambassador shared that during her courtesy call on H.E. the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of Oman, H.E. Minister expressed the intention of Oman to import more rice of Thailand and to invite Thailand's investment in Oman in seafood processing and packaging in which Thailand has expertise and Oman has a lot of resources. For mutual interest of both countries, the Royal Thai Embassy invited a delegation of the Omani governmental and private sectors, including representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Invest Oman to visit Thailand between 26-30 May 2025, to explore the potential and innovation of Thailand in agricultural and halal food sector and discuss possible cooperation in trade and investment with Thai businesses in rice and other agricultural products, seafood and halal food sector at THAIFEX-ANUGA ASIA 2025, leading agricultural and food exhibition in the region. The Embassy would facilitate meetings with Thai producers of rice, seafood and other agricultural and food products. They would also meet other key agencies such as Halal Science Center, Central Islamic Council of Thailand, Board of Investment of Thailand, etc., to discuss ways to increase trade and investment in this particular and also other areas, and possible investment both in Thailand and in Oman.

Undersecretary highlighted Oman’s focus in manufacturing, tourism, mining, and food security and that Oman wants to cooperate in the field which Thailand has expertise such as food, tourism and wellness center. Oman is with strategic location as logistic hub and concluded FTAs with many countries including US and India. Oman has plenty of natural resources and raw materials needed for investment in frozen fruits/vegetable and seafood processing. Thai private sector can cooperate with Omani state enterprises such as Fisheries Development Oman (FDO). Oman has an area allocated for agricultural investment in Najd, Dhofar Governorate, which is not far from the Salalah Freezone and can be easily exported to Yemen market. There is also the Khazaen Economic City, a wholesale center for vegetables and fruits located just 1 hour from Muscat. Invest Oman is ready to facilitate online meetings with interested Thai companies.

The Ambassador extended her invitation to the Ministry of Commerce/Invest Oman to also send representatives joining this delegation to Thailand - an opportunity to explore Thailand's potential and producers of frozen fruit and vegetable as the Undersecretary wished, and to discuss with Thai agencies to promote investment between the two countries in other areas as well. The Undersecretary agreed with the idea and would assign officials to join the delegation to Thailand and also kindly extended her facilitation for Invest Oman to arrange for the Ambassador to meet with the Oman Investment Authority.

The Ambassador expressed her gratitude and handed to the Undersecretary a list of trade fairs and exhibitions that the Department of International Trade Promotion will organize this year in Thailand for her consideration on further collaboration.

Later, on 22 May 2025, the Ambassador held a meeting with Director of Thai Trade Center in Dubai and on 25 May 2025, with the delegation from Ministry of Agriculture, Fishery, and Water Resources, the Ministry of Commerce/Invest Oman and private sector of Oman who will visit Thailand in the afore-mentioned trip. They jointly set the direction of the program for discussions with various Thai agencies including Rice Exporters Association, Rice production plant, Thai Frozen Food Association, Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICOT) which issues Thai Halal Certificate, Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University, Department of Foreign Trade, Department of International Trade Promotion, Board of Investment of Thailand, etc.

After the visit, on 24 June 2025, a follow-up meeting was held to continue Thai-Oman cooperation from the visit for mutual benefit.
