เมื่อวันที่ 26 มกราคม 2568 นางสาววารุณี ปั้นกระจ่าง เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมัสกัต ได้ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้บริหารและนักวิจัย สำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) และสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (สกสว.) นำโดย ดร. วิภารัตน์ ดีอ่อง ผู้อำนวยการ วช. และ ศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์สิริฤกษ์ ทรงศิวิไล ประธานกรรมการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (กสว.) ซึ่งเดินทางมาเข้าร่วมการประชุมวิชาการ Muscat Global Knowledge Dialogue และการประชุมสมัชชาใหญ่ครั้งที่ 3 ของสภาวิทยาศาสตร์ระหว่างประเทศ ที่โอมานเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดขึ้นระหว่าง 26 – 30 มกราคม 2568 เอกอัครราชทูตแสดงความพร้อมเป็นอีกช่องทางในการประสานงานความร่วมมือทางด้านการวิจัยระหว่างไทยกับโอมาน ซึ่งสามารถร่วมมือกันในประเด็นสำคัญของทั้งสองฝ่าย อาทิ AI พลังงานสะอาด และประเด็นทางทะเล เอกอัครราชทูตได้สอบถามประเด็นเฉพาะด้านวิทยาศาสตร์เทคโนโลยีที่คณะสนใจร่วมมือกับต่างประเทศโดยเฉพาะกับโอมาน เอกอัครราชทูตได้เข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดการประชุมฯ ที่ Oman Convention and Exhibition Center และพบ Dr. Ali Albimani, Vice Chairman of National University of Science and Technology ของโอมานซึ่งประสงค์พบหารือกับฝ่ายไทย และได้ประสานให้ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ติดต่อกันเพื่อหารือความร่วมมือไทย-โอมานต่อไป

On 26 January 2025, H.E. Ms. Warunee Pan-krajang, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, welcomed the delegation of executives and researchers from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) led by Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of NRCT, and Professor Sirirurg Songsivilai, MD, PhD, Chairman of the National Commission on Science, Research and Innovation Promotion (CSRP), who traveled to attend the Muscat Global Knowledge Dialogue and the 3rd General Assembly of the International Science Council (ISC), hosted by Oman from 26-30 January 2025. The Ambassador expressed her readiness to be another channel for coordinating cooperation in research between Thailand and Oman in areas of interest of both sides such as AI, clean energy, and maritime S&T. The two sides discussed specific areas of S&T Thai delegation wishes to cooperate with foreign countries especially Oman. The Ambassador also attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd ISC at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center where she met with Dr. Ali Albimani, Vice Chairman of National University of Science and Technology, who wished to meet with the Thai side, and introduced them to one another for possible Thai-Oman S&T collaboration.
